This washer perfect performs like a washer more than twice its size.  It is easy enough for someone to assemble alone, but I did have help laying it on the floor to install the bottom plate.  The machine runs so much quieter than my larger model and can clean up to 5 lbs of laundry. I also like that you can tilt the washer back and easily move it around your home like a dolly.  I do recommend that you carefully read the instructions first especially if you are doing something like hooking it up to your faucet

Small and powerful compact washer

Having this portable washer is so convenient. I did buy an adapter to hook both hoses together so I could keep the washer against the wall and wrap the hoses around to my since. I also bought an extended drain hose that I clamped to the hose it came with to also wrap around to my sink. If you plan on moving this Everytime you use it, I highly recommend you buy a dolly for it. Overall, I'm happy with this washer.

Great portable washer!

This washing machine is awesome. I also purchased the dolly that they suggest to use with it. I can't use the washer with my faucet in the bathroom so I use mine in the kitchen. I keep it at the end of the counter when not in use, then wheel it around closer to the sink, plug it in, hook the hose up to the faucet and set the drain hose in the sink, and it's ready to use! Very simple, works just like a regular washing machine, only smaller. There's no agitator which I love. Does a great job washing, I would say it holds the equivalent of a medium size load for a regular washing machine. I wash everything on cold, but you can wash with hot water by just adjusting the temperature of the water at your faucet. You just have to put the water back on cold for the rinse cycle. I use the quick wash setting on pretty much everything as the clothes and towels aren't really that dirty, and it's done in ten minutes. I live in an apartment with no w/d hookups and  i can now do my laundry whenever I want instead of using the one community washer and dryer that almost always had someone else's laundry in it. I was already hanging up most of my clothes to air dry, so I bought a drying rack for the jeans and towels, and they are dry the next day. It is a really good price for a good machine, absolutely beats having to tote your laundry to a community laundry room and sharing machines with strangers! Oh, I also had mine delivered to the store for pickup, and it only took a few days to arrive and the whole purchase was problem-free from start to finish.

Wish I'd known about this sooner!

I have bought this washer 3 weeks ago. I am thrilled with the results. I can wash 10 male 2XL shirts and 3 pair of jeans in one load. It is easy to install. I live in an apartment and I have carpet all over. It didn't take any extra effort to balance. I just put it in the corner I had available. The noise level is minimum.
It came one week sooner than estimated and it was in great condition. The only thing I chose to replace was the hose, as I needed the washer re-positioned. It comes with TWO 3 feet hoses. Yes, two- hot and cold water. Even if you only have one faucet, you can only use one, or buy a Y divider and hook them both.
It has 6 different washing programs, plus separate wash, rinse, and spin. I have a dog, so I washed his stuff on a 10 minutes program. I was surprised it wash, rinse and spin them.
All these 3 functions are great (wash, rinse and spin), but I am thrilled for the spin one. It spines your clothes so good that it only takes a few hours for them to dry.
I simply love it. I washed 12 times with it so far and I feel there were the best $260 spent.

great deal

I have never wrote a review on any item, however, I felt this one was worth it since I myself was looking for reviews during my search. I absolutely love this machine and enjoy doing laundry in my apaprtment without having to use our facilities laundry mat that is on the other side of the complex. We are a family of four which include myself, my husband, 8 year old and 1 year old and the washer is the perfect size. Of course you will cut loads in half but clothes come out extreamly clean. This machine can do various loads from heavy, normal, jeans and quick wash etc.  the longest load being 50 minutes and quick wash at only 10 minutes in lenght. You will be surprised how much you can actually wash in this little guy and if you follow all direction installation is a breeze. Some reviews opted for different hoses but the ones included worked for me. Although item is portable and has two back wheels you will need a different form of transportation if it won't be left in one spot at all times. Unit is a bit heavy and since the wheels don't roll as well I bought the adjustable roller to make it easier. Mine only comes out when in use other than that its stored in my closet.  Please opt to pick up in store though, I chose to deliver to my home and unit was dented. Unit is about 80 + lbs. so my UPS guy had a lot of trouble bringing up the stairs. I did keep my item since it was cosmetic and I was able to get my receipt adjusted. I bought matching dryer as well so I will review that also.

Perfect little machine

I had Avanti before and i did not like it because it spun my clothes into knots, But Magic chef washes clean and perfect. It has options to do a short cycle or just pick any two: wash and rinse or rinse and dry... Im happy with my purchase. The delivery was very fast as well and the machine came with no damages

This washer met my expectations

Came dented. Picture shows right out of the box. Normally I would have returned, or at the very least called to complain, but I had no time or energy to take care of it. Plus the damage wouldn't have affected the performance. I wanted to give it a few weeks before reviewing. Easy to install. Initially the first load I wasnt happy. It seemed the top of the laundry didnt get wet, and I didn't even overload the basin. Not to mention I don't feel like it agitated as well as the former model which just recently broke down making me buy this one. I decided to give it a chance and I think its cleaning the clothes pretty well. The one thing I really dont like is that whereas on the previous model I could just put the clothes in, turn on the machine, then hit the start button, this newer model requires me to hit a lot more buttons to just start a normal load. It starts out on a heavy cycle and then you hit the button to delicate, then quick, bulky, spin only, THEN normal. You have to put it on the cycle you want first, then push the load size buttons. It starts out on a large load. I dont use many of the other buttons. I also dont use a hot water hookup as I never could on the last machine so I didn't bother. I also dont like that when you open the lid after starting, it has a long irritating beeping and then stops until you push the button after closing the lid, whereas the former model all you had to do was close the lid. Its a decent machine though and better than going to the laundromat. Obviously you cant do large blankets etc, but the basin is pretty spacious.

It works.

Washer arrived with a big dent in it. Not wanting to go thru the hassle of returning it and waiting for a new unit to be delivered, figured I would try and bang out dent and give it a try. Managed to get the majority of the dent out so, I tried a large load of laundry. Worked like a champ. All cycles worked fine no leaks, no unhappy or strange noises. Tried all the different settings now with no problems.  Had a large capacity stacked duo and this washer with the 1.5 cu ft dryer has freed up a great deal of room in the small apartment utility room. As a single guy this is a great size and gets my clothes just as clean as the front loader. There is the twisting of the clothes which is not a problem since none of my clothes can be described as "delicate". Adding bleach is a timing exercise, an oven timer works well, when I do use bleach which is not often. Over all I am happy with the operation and function of the washer.

Little washer big cleaner

This was packaged and handled with care and I know that because not even the box had any dents or holes. It was packed in Styrofoam so that did protect the washer. 

What I didn't like was the fact that this washer was made 14 YEARS!!!! ago. Rubber and other types of flexible seals do dry out and crack over time especially with disuse. Of course I offer photo proof of the 2006 manf. date. Very disappointed that the washer and I are already at a disadvantage due to it sitting around for over a decade.


Hooking up the washer was painless. My situation involves an RV and even though this is a fairly small washer, space is at a premium in an RV so it is living outside, completely covered with some insulation and a doubled over tarp.  I had already added a Y connector to my hose bib so I could supply it and the RV with water. I was worried that I would need an adapter because I wanted to hook a standard water hose. I simply installed one of their hoses first and then screwed the garden hose into the washer's hose. I will only be connecting cold water and prior to reading directions(yes I am a guy) I noticed they provided the user with a threaded cap for the hot water so I screwed that onto the hot water inlet and started a load soon after that. 

As far as washing is concerned I do like how clean the clothes are when they're done and most items are almost dry so that should save some money on the dryer, if you use one. There are plenty of washing options and the one I pay attention to is the temperature setting which I make sure is always set to cold. The cycle(s) are very customize so you can conserve on the water or should you have some extra dirty clothes you can set it to bulky(press program until the light next to BULKY is FLASHING. The light is solid at first which would mean it is set to normal but press it a few more times and you have 3 more cycle when the light is flashing. They could have made another row of lights instead of having 3 solid and 3 flashing indicator lights but that does cost money so I don't mind having to cycle through the choices. 

I did wash my queen size comforter with this washer and while it couldn't swim all that well it did come out nice and clean. I don't think I hung that comforter out in this Texas sun(around 9am) for even an hour and it was already dry. 

It does offer the user the option of an extra rinse and I have used that on a dirty load and also with my comforter. 

It really isn't portable and only the front legs are adjustable. At just 3 pounds shy of 80 pounds it's as heavy as a bag of cement. Should you need portability you should get yourself a flat and VERY heavy duty furniture dolly. Mine will be stationary so I'm not that disappointed.

Overall it's a good washer but I just can't get over being served something going on 15 years old.

It's a good washer but it's over a decade old

The machine itself is great but they completely damaged it in delivery! Tried opening the box and the box was so beat up it disconnected at the bottom. The machine has huge dents on all sides. Unbelievable! Will be contacting customer service for a replacement asap. This is my first purchase through Walmart that has been delived this badly damaged.
