Whay is the amp on the motor of the NV 500 ?

Mine is not very quiet but I do not know that it has a loud "whistle". I do notice it to be a bit loud but my other vacume was too and this one picks up way more so I dont mind. Hope this helps

It is VERY quiet. The power brush is a little louder probably because it is a turbo power pet brush but it doesn't squeal and is not high pitched

Just got this model. It does whistle if the suction control collar on the handle is open too much. Try closing it down. I have mine open a little and the suction is great. I can&#39;t believe how much dirt was in my rugs. It definitely out-cleans the Oreck.

After 5 years, 6 moves, and 3 kids, this still works perfectly. -Scroll down for short version- I had a beed stuck in the neck just below the flex hose once and then found out that every curve and turn all the way to the tank comes apart without tools. just push here or pull there. It does trap all the dust. The lift away is amazing. Basically, you stick the tank on this little 4 wheel piece and it just rolls around behind you. It's a necessity for carrying on there stairs and for doing under beds and couches... basically any time you use a handheld over a distance.

-Short Version-
Pros: You have every part you need. Its light weight. It filters the air completely from what I can tell. Filters are fairly easy to clean (wash one , smack the other). Every part comes apart to get caught string, beads, or dog food out.

Cons: It squeaks and creaks a lot. Not really an issue, but it sounds flimsy (lasted me 5 years so far though). The hose on it is pretty  dense which sounds good, but you pull the vacuum over if you try to stretch the hose too far while using the upright.

I love when things are worth the money.

I love the shark vacuum I bought but I was very disappointed that it was not what it showed in the ad. The ad said that it was a special buy. As you scrolled though the pictures , picture number 3 out of 6 showed that it came with another head that you could attach to the extension part and make it a stick vacuum that would go under furniture. When I receive my vacuum , I was very disappointed to find that it did not contain that vacuum head. I went back to check and no where does it say that , that part is not part of the special buy. It shows 6 pictures in what it contains and number three shows it with it on it. I have taken pictures and I will pursue this farther.

absolutely love this vacuum. I had a dyson ball which I didn't like much. I think the shark is great. It's easy to maneuver and easy to clean. I love the detachable handle.
