I saw that too---but it was not. It is very comfortable. I lowered legs on it more than I thought I'd need---now I feel more comfortable than ANY seat such as this that I have ever used. As they have been coarse on my flesh.

The "lip" is only on the rear and rises about 3/4". It helps guide you from making sure your weight is centered on the seat, so you don't overshoot the edge.

The SLIGHT lip is on the rear of the seat to prevent you from going to far back and falling off the seat itself. It is no problem to your legs or buttocks.. p

I mistakenly told the other lady wrong on the FEET WIDTH. the Feet width is TWO INCHES on solid rubber feet.

Mine came unassembled in a box. Only had 3 screw/bolts needed to assemble (provided). The adjustable legs slide onto frame and lock in at desired height. Very easy.

It comes in a flat box, in pieces. The instructions are clear if read carefully. The pieces are numbered and marked and can be put together by hand.

This particular one does not come assembled but there are only three pieces, the seat and 2 legs that are actually four legs. There are five metal screws with large, heavy plastic twist ends to use to attach the legs to the seat.

I am so glad that I decided to purchase this shower chair for myself. I am 33 years old and have severe Rhuematoid Arthritis which makes even the simplest of tasks very difficult and tricky for me. I have been borrowing a chair from someone to try out and see if it was a good fit for me, because showering has become very difficult lately. I was using a wide seat chair with a full back support and even though I did like it in that it made showering easier, the chair was very big so I wanted something much smaller. This new Carex chair turned out to be perfect! It fits in my tub perfectly, not snug or crammed in at all. I love the rounded seat as apposed to the traditional rectangular shape and with only 2 easy to turn knob-screws, it easily assembles or disassembles for easy transport or storage! It adjusts easily, which is great for me because I'm short and sit lower to the ground than most. The shower head holders are much to small to hold a shower head, however. I just use them to hold my loofa instead. I couldn't be happier with this chair!

Needed something for our grandmother in the shower. This put together very easily. It is sturdy & doesn't slip around easily on the floor. The price is affordable- most others are $10-20 higher.  Perfect for what we needed.
