Ease Of Use

I was looking for a travel camera to replace the DSLR. What got my attention was the ability to take video and convert to stills. I was not disappointed in the least. Also, the pre-settings are amazingly good. Tried those compared to manual, and 90% of the time, I use the pre-settings. A small learning curve on how to take stills out of video, but nothing you can't do in 15 minutes. I am now sold on mirrorless and micro 4/3 from Panasonic.

A power packed camera that outdoes my DSLR

I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received product samples as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. I currently own a GX8 and was provided the G85 to test out. I brought both cameras with me on a trip to Iceland and honestly, I used the G85 more than the GX8. The user interface was consistent with the existing Lumix camera system and is very intuitive and easy to use. Weather sealing was a must in the unpredictable weather of Iceland. Autofocusing was quick and image stabilization was great. Overall I was very satisfied with the camera.

Great Semi-Pro Camera

My name is Matt, I am an authorized Panasonic retailer (among other brands, but we won't mention them here!). As a videographer, Panasonic meets all my needs. I already had an FZ1000, which was super useful for slow-mo and long zoom reach, but I needed something else with the ability to get more shallow depth of field. Enter the G85. I was used to the 5 axis stabilization in the FZ1000, and the G85's 5 axis sensor matched perfectly, allowing me to use lenses that are either older or do not have O.S. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the GH4 (or upcoming GH5 for that matter) but to me that doesn't matter. The form factor and functionality make this guy extremely useful, especially in environments where a smaller footprint is needed. Panasonic's autofocus systems continue to amaze me, and paired with the right lenses, require little to no manual operation...a huge plus, especially when flying it on a gimbal. If you're looking to upgrade from the G7, while keeping your costs low...this is the camera for you!

The Little Camera that could

Today's good value was yesterday's premium camera. The G85 has decades of superior images ahead and is as nearly "tomorrow proof" as anything on the market. The beauty of the results is limited only by your creativity. In auto or manual modes this camera can be the winingest horse in your stable. Stills or video, beautiful results on which you can rely are uniformly obtainable. Advanced pro videographers may have more sophisticated needs, but they are paid accordingly. The kit lens has such range and sharpness that you may need no other; but as you dive into the art, you may want to work with additional lenses. No problems here, compatibility is assured. As always, read the instructions. Can you tell that I am happy with my G85?

An astounding valu

I upgraded from an old DSLR and the difference is stunning. This camera is competitively priced, easy to use, and has great image and video quality. I would recommend getting a lens with low f-number for better low light quality.

Great Camera

What's not to love about the G85! The image quality along with the 12-60 lense Allows for really sharp ,enriched color image even in super low light thanks to the Dual IS . The 24-120 true focal length with this lens is a dream for any photographer needing a do it all lens Do yourself a favor buy this camera that fits your hand like a glove, comfortable ,easy to use you won't want to put it down even when you have too! Big quality in a small package !

Big Quality in a small package!

The quality of the still photos from this camera are superb. The new 5 Axis in camera IS along with lens IS is a great improvement that makes getting great images easier. One downside to this camera is that I wished it had similar button layout as that found on the Lumix GH4. Having the WB, ISO and +/- EV button on the top deck and just behind the shutter button would eliminate accidental activation of the same buttons in their current location which is on the back of the camera where your palm rests and sometimes is prone to activate these tools. Other than that I find this camera an amazing value.

Huge Bang for the Buck

I read poor reviews in this company and for whatever reason I still ordered BUT, prior to ordering I verified this was TWO lenses. I email them, asked clear questions and asked TWO times prior to ordering if it was 2 Lenses. BOTH times I received a clear YES! So I ordered. Fast forward to Christmas morning, my sons opens his gift to… a camera w ONE lens. I promptly emailed them and got an answer that they see my prior correspondence, is did say 2 lenses and they would escalate it and get back to me in 1-2 days, it took nearly EIGHT days. I had to tell him not to mess w the gift he waited for until I heard back , eight days later ! The answer I got, sorry we cannot honor what we listed to order , what I verified, and what was agreed upon but I can return it for refund. It's a listing error.  The BEST part in this FRAUDULENT transaction is, THE ITEM IS STILL LISTED FOR SALE AT THE SAME PRICE, 10 days after I contacted them. To they've continued to offer a product fraudulently while aware of , but claim they are “working “ on getting it down. Worst business I've dealt with hands down!!
