I'm not sure that The Sony replaces my other SLRs, but I love the smaller size, light weight, and high pixel count. The faster autofocus is another great feature for animal photography.
Just returned from a cruise to Alaska. It was great not to lug along my big cameras. I did buy a 210 zoom lens so I was able to catch eagle shots . Then I cropped the pics and still had great image quality.

Great supplement to my camera collection

The magic of this camera exceeds my capabilities. It is surprise after surprise. The picture quality is immediately stunning. I used it for a blog I did when traveling overseas and was floored by the fantastic audio quality for the videos I shot. Light and small, it's easy to pack around, hold and shoot. The settings are more than I need, so if it's a quick point and click you want, this may not be the camera. However, for someone who is "into" photographer and video, the a6000 will be a great part of your photo life. If I was pressed for one negative it would be the video button on the front is a bit small and several times I thought I had shut it off, only to find minutes of incredible footage of my feet walking around.
This camera is fun, fast and makes you feel like a pro.

a6000 is awesome

I have had my new Sony a6000 for about a week and I am over the moon.  I wanted to up my game from a Point and Shoot, did a ton of investigating for the best camera for my money (I don't have a lot, so this was a big deal), and it all landed me with this camera.  Delighted.  I am SO excited to learn, learn, learn, practice, practice, practice, on taking photos with this gem.

I'm SO Excited!

I cut my teeth on a Miranda F model in the 70's and after countless cameras over the years, I can finally say that my A6000 is the very top of the list. If you buy one you will not be disappointed.

Easy to work with

This was my first attempt a using a camera other than a point and shoot. Getting started was difficult because the instruction booklet that came with the camera was useless to me as a newcomer to DSLR. Lots of help came from Google where I found numerous entries that showed me how to work through the menu and set up the camera to start. After some practice, I feel much more able to negotiate the menu and function buttons to get what I wanted. The picture quality looks great and I look forward to getting more familiar with Sony a6000 as I go. I also have to 50mm/f1.8 and the 55-220 lenses.
