All you need is a yoga mat and hand weights.

a single weight 1-8 lbs and a mat if you are on a hard surface. carpet works fine

At level 1 - you need one dumbell with weight between 3-8 lbs. The beginner example uses no weights at all.

All you need is one hand weight. I use a 3 pound weight, but you could probably go all the way up to 8 depending on how strong you are.

All the equipment is optional. I can use a 2-3 lb weight if you choose to do so. I just use the Shake Weight (which is also a very good product). And a yoga mat if you are exersizing on a hard are slippery service.

To start, just a mat or towel and then hand weights if you want to use them on some of the exercises.

You need one 3-5lb dumbbell, and maybe a mat if you're working out on a hard surface.

A 3-8 LB DUMBELL, JUST ONE, AND A MAT!! THATS IT!! GOOD LUCK TRY IT!!

one 3-5 lb weight is recommended, but not required.

You will want a floor mat if on a hard surface, maybe a 2lb hand weight if you want. Other than that NOTHING!

HAND WEIGHTS. 3lb-8lbs. A comfy mat if working out on a hard surface. A bottle of water. WILL-POWER! GET SHREDDED! :-)

This is a great workout that really gets your heart pumping and all muscles burning. I am literally out of breath after doing each of the exercises in the video even the warn-up, but as I am working out I get a sense that they are making a difference because of the difficulty. The workout consists of cardio, strenghtening, a lot of plank positions, and many core-targeted exercises. Although some of the moves look easy they are not. It is really a tough challenge to make it through this dvd without quitting so please do not underestimate the workout. The key is to make sure you are in correct form even if you cannot keep up with the pace. I rotate this video with Jillian Michael's 30 day shred so I do not do it everyday, moreso 3- 4 times a week. I have been using this dvd for a week now and I am already noticing a difference in my abs. I cannot wait to see the results at the end of the six weeks.

Super workout

I loved this DVD! I am already in my 2nd week and already noticing some results. Level 1 is very hard and DEFINATELY elevates the heart rate extremely. I am a long distance so it takes quite a bit to get my heart pumping and I have to say, this DVD does the trick. I have no doubt that in 4 more weeks I will have very toned abs. Love it! And I would reccomend this DVD to anyone looking to shed a few pounds and get definition in their midsection.

Its an excellent Video.. I had it for 4 weeks and I feel great.. My next one is the Yoga Melt down from Jillian.. I really recommend the 6 week six pack video to start for beginners

All what you need to start feeling great!

It's a killer, but in a good way! After day one my abs were burning just breathing. You didn't really expect less from Jillian though, did you? It's a quick 30 minute core booster with her usually cardio and weight intervals. Great to help strengthen your lower back too!

Ab-tastic

This is my seventh Jillian Michaels DVD I supplement them a couple times a week on days I don't go to the gym. This is a good DVD, during the first use I did need to pause a few times so that I made sure I had the right form down. I recommend this DVD to all age groups from 18 & over, I'm 54 and if I can do it so can you!

Great DVD

Please disregard my previous negative review.  I literally received it in perfect condition within an hour after I previously posted.  I'm very happy.

The DVD is good if you can ever receive it. If you are going to get this DVD just go into the store and pick it up. It is a great workout in 2 3 week 30 minutes long workouts

The shipping is longer than it says

I love Jillian! She is truthful and pretty hard too. Its hard to pick up with them but I'm trying. Tomorrow I will try harder until I have it done right. I have 4 DVD'S of Jillian's. 6 week Six-pack,Killer Buns and thighs, Jillian for Beginners (Backside) and Jillian for Biginners (Frontside). I look for Jillians DVD'S every morning. She is great. I fill great when I'm done.

For beginners

This is a good workout and isn't easy, but not nearly as difficult as Jillian Michael's 30 day shred workout. It depends on where you are at physically. I should have started with this video and worked into the 30 day shred, but I didn't. I about died. After doing both Ive developed a lot more stamina. You just need to start and stick with it! Good luck

Good workout

Jillian Michael DVD's definitely gives you the results your looking for. I first used this exercise program after giving birth to my 3rd child.  After 3 c sections I gave up on having a flat stomach. However, after sticking with this routine and making some minor adjustments to my diet I got really dang close to that six pack.  I will definitely recommend. It's a lot of work but result driven.
