She uses a 20 lb adjustable kettel ball that sells for $89 through walmart, amazon, etc.. Personally, I am going to start with a 5 lb kettel ball and work up. $89 to me is pretty steap.

I started with a 7 lb. It's plenty right now but as you get better, try a 10llb.

I think she uses a 20 lb. but I started off with a 5lb then moved into a 10lb right now and will hopefully work my way up to the 15 lb I have.

Hello!! I have 5lb dumbbells and 10lb kettlebell.

She has an adjustable 20 lb kettlebell but she only uses the lowest weight setting on it. She doesn't really say how heavy the lowest setting is but I would guess it's only 5-8 lbs.

Use the weight most comfortable for you to start with. I am using a 5 pound and will hopefully go up soon.

I use a 10lb kettlebell, Jillian says you can use a normal weight, she actually uses a beginner version with hand weights.

Use whatever lb weight that your body can handle. I use a 7 lb k/b or a 2.5 dumbbell. It does not matter. This is a great workout video.

the video recommends a weight or kettlbell from 3-8 lbs. She keeps it at the same level- I am guessing around 7-8 lbs on level 1. Not sure about the level two..

I've only used Level 1 so far but she doesn't even use all 20lbs. She just has one or two rings on it at any time.

A 3 pound dumbbell would be fine.. Its all up to you.. I use a dumbbell and it works great for me . Kettle is optional...

She uses the same weight throughout the entire workout on Level 1. I am not on Level 2 yet. But, it really does not matter if you switch. I use a 7 pound k/b or dumbbell and get a great workout either way.

from what I could see, the kettlebell was only partially full of the plate weights.

I know jillian uses an adjustable 20lb weight in this video but does she use the entire 20lb. or adjust it to a diffrent weight for certain moves?

It's easier on the knees that a lot of other kettlebell dvds. But, it still has lunges (which is hard on knees). I have one bad knee and I can do this dvd fine, but do feel some discomfort occasionally.

No, it is not hard on the knees, but she does bring you up and down on the floor for about 3 to 4 minutes in Level 1. I am not on Level 2 yet. This is a really great workout especially for the price.

It can be, some of the moves require kneeling or bending at the knees, and doing this while holding a kettlebell could be difficult if you have bad knees.

Wanted something quick but effective for a boost in the mornings. This is it! I do a lot of cardio but have a hard time finding something with a little weight that I like enough to stick with. You can definitely feel this workout in your body even after only one workout! It's not extremely hard but it's, for sure, nothing to sneeze at either, which is exactly what I was looking for. Wasn't sure if I would like Jillian but that lady isn't your typical flighty instructor, you can feel her energy through the screen which is very motivating. I started with an 8lb kettlebell which worked perfect for me, if your new to weights I would start with no more than a 4lb weight at the most and move up from there.

I have several of Jillian's DVD's and am quite happy with this one already after one workout. It is challenging but the best part about the routines is that they are different and fun. It is 25 minutes but quite intense! I prefer Jillian's workouts because they are quick and effective. You can use a kettlebell or weight that the video recommends a weight range of 3-8 lbs. This will create lean strong muscles, but it is by no means a wussy workout!

This is a very good workout and if you are looking to get a good burn you are in for a treat.

AMAZING

Jillian Michaels produces another great exercise DVD. The use of kettlebells or dumbbells in this video accomodates anyone. This product is good for beginners to the most advance person. I highly recommend this product in helping meet weight loss goals.

I just love Jillian Michaels... I own 8 of her DVDs and they always deliver.. After 2 1/2 months working out with her and eating healthy I can proudly say I lost 17 pounds... All my baby weight is gone once and for all!!! Now I'm looking forward to get in my best shape ever!!!! Thanks Jillian and thanks Walmart who always deliver a great service and unbeatable prices... Before this workout I thought I was in pretty good shape. The first time I used it I had to stop 5 mins before it was over. I will be a Jillian master before it's over and done.

Great workout

I love Jillian and have always done her workouts. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because I feel like there should be a warning! When I was doing the move where you throw the weight up over your head and then bring it back down, I dislocated my shoulder when I brought the weight up over my head.  Now I can't work out because my shoulder is jacked up and I'm just hoping there's no damage to my shoulder.

Awesome workouts. Beware of injury!

this video is very good for overall training, but the workout 2 video is at a very advanced level and is too hard to do and I work out every day!
