Picture

This is the first TV I've purchased without seeing it first. I have a smaller Sony OLED that I bought in December 2019. I expected this to be a larger version of that one…this one is better! Maybe it's the cognitive processor but this picture is outstanding! This TV upscales 1080 blu-rays so they almost look like a 4K disc, and a 4K disc is even better. I don't want to forget about the audio. The audio in this is really good, the sound radiates from the screen. This TV is a good place to start, one could enjoy movies and sports without a home theater. Get the TV now and add the sound later.

Really Glad I Bought This

We bought this tv roughly a month ago and had a slight concern about glare and screen brightness. We have an open floor plan with the dinning/living/kitchen with plenty (9) windows. We rarely put the lights on from sun up to sun down. The screen has very little reflection (as you can see by the picture that I took at 10:15am) and the screen is more than bright enough even on the lower settings. If you do your research and looking for a tv with the features/connections you want this tv should be an awesome purchase for you.

Awesome TV

Purchased In November 2021 for entertainment room.  The TV is great, darkest blacks, makes the characters almost pop out of the screen.  Picture quality is superb, but the free channels that come came with my Samsung are missing, I assume this is due to Google but free channel are nice, Sony should think that part of the marketing over.  Let's hope that the TV lasts as long as my older LED Sony, going on 12 years.

Huge upgrade from my A8G!

I bought this TV in April.  Overall, happy with picture quality and colors. Blacks are super deep (inky) and colors are vibrant and bright.  Very satisfied!!

Great TV.  Easy to setup and integrate with my AV

It has been two weeks of owning Sony bravia A80J OLED.  Initially I was skeptical about OLED, I was debating getting LED vs OLED.  Finally decided to give OLED a try because I kind of used Bravia LED for last 5 years.   I can see the difference, life like contrast , crystal clear colors and huge 77 inch for movie like experience.

Absolute gorgeous color contrast

I bought this last week and it arrived today.  Installation was straight forward, although I recommend you purchase the recommended Sony wall mount for this model if you are goin that route.  Mounting was straight forward and it helps that this 77" A80J is only @ 64 pounds ... definitely a two person job.  Set up was straight forward, although I set it up for basic tv as I have it connected to my home theater system and feed all of my inputs through my Denon receiver to the TV via the eARC port.  When setting up my AppleTV, I will say it took a little to figure out as the AppleTV would not let me set it up for 4K Dolby Digital.  Long story short, go to TV settings and set the eARC port for Dolby Digital, it defaulted to standard resolution, so my connecting devices didn't want to use the higher resolution settings.  Once that was set, everything worked great ... and let me just say what a fantastic picture OLED provides, WOW!  I upgraded from a Samsung Q60T (82") and am very happy I did.  The color on this A80J is so vivid, deep, and vibrant, its like I'm rediscovering TV all over again.  TV sound sounded good, but I didn't listen to it too long as I enabled audio from the TV to my audio system.  Bottom line, very highly recommended, don't wonder weather you should spend the money for the A80J or not, just buy it, you won't regret it!!

Excellent Picture Quality!

I am not an impulse buyer. I do a lot of research before I pull the trigger. It literally took my wife saying, “I am tired of hearing about it, just buy it!” Before I actually made the purchase. I have not been disappointed. I purchased the 77” and with the help of my neighbor I mounted on my wall. The picture is amazing! Even my wife who doesn't care about electronics commented about how good the picture looks. The tv sounds good as well, as long as you don't care about bass. The tv lacks in that department, but if it bothers you, you can always buy a sound bar with a subwoofer.  All and all I am very happy so far with my purchase.

I did my homework!

I've had this TV about a month now. I've watched 3/4 of the marvel movies on Disney + since I've got it. You get all the good stuff, IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Vision, 4k UHD, Dolby Atmos etc. All I can say is WOW. The color and detail is amazing.  There are some quirks to work through, like having to pick the picture settings and sound setting for every input or streaming app you watch, BUT once you got it all set up it's flawless. Highly recommend this TV. I was worried about spending 3k on a TV,but my worries have been put to rest!  This was the perfect addition and finishing touch to my 7.4.2 Klipsch surround system!

Absolutely awesome!

After exactly 1 year and 2 months, the TV started to have stuck pixels. A few days later, a spot of dead pixels showed up around it. Definitely would not recommend. Rated low for the dead pixel spot as seen in the picture.
