Itâs the best compass Iâve ever had and it will do many more things than I was aware of!  I am still learning to use it with TOPO maps to find the elevation of distant sites.  I have found Utube very helpful!

I hesitate to leave a review because I bought this for my grown son for his bug-out bag, and didn't get to play with it much myself. But it seemed to be good quality with a lot of functions, but a little on the heavy side. Might not be the best choice for light backpacking or camping, but for serious map reading it looks like it'll do the job.

Good quality but a little heavy

Bought this for my nephew who studied Geology, loves to camp and Hike.  I noticed he had a simple compass and thought this would be a good birthday gift for him.  Since I am into the outdoors and love to hike I may have to get me one now.  Nice, it is sturdy and accurate on direction and sighting.

I like the quality of this compass  reminds me of the old army compass

I saw this compass and thecprice seemed reasonable.  I gave my old compass to my grandson.  So i odered this one.  I was very impress when I open the pakage.  This compass is very high quality and not that of poor quantity.  one would call this heavy duty and rugged.  it seemed like a military style compass.  unless they change the design in the future. This is the compass your looking for.  Thank Goodness there is instructions.   Im going to have to learn how to use all the features. I am very vety satisfied with my purchase. Again the price per quality does not reflect the highy quality. i think i might get another for my son.  highly recommend this compass.

Great product

This is an update. Seller kept their word and sent a replacement. This one is working just fine.
   Everything works. The only thing that I will not change,  is that the instruction are not very good. You would be better off finding a military course on both compass and maps that you can down load and print or buy. That way you can refresh you knowledge when needed.

Good heavy compass

I was able to use the compass to set the direction on my antenna for my TV. I was watching a video about how to use the compass and I was comparing my purchase to the compass in the video. My compass may not be as good quality wise as the compass in the video but it does seem to work well enough right now for my needs.
