Yup and you would do well to replace the "package" scope. Horrible to sight in and mine fell apart first time. Contacted Barnett and they're sending a new one but I've already replaced it with a better one.

Does it have a picatinny rail to put on a diffrent scope?

i wouldn't hesitate at a 50 yard shot with any decent crossbow...i took a doe at 55 last year with a parker buckbuster, having almost identical specs, she didn't take a step

I can hit a 4"bulls eye at 50 yrds.,but thqt does not mean the deer will still be standing there when the bolt arrives, the bow makes some noies.

I was shooting arrows into arrows at 40 yds. I truly believe that target distance use and practical hunting distance use will always differ. The crossbow by nature is louder than a compound bow and the animal can always "jump the string". Effective range depends on the awareness of the animal.

The jackal can shoot a very long ways. If you are target shooting only, and you have a steady aim, you can easily get groups at over 100 yards or more ( probably more, but this was my experience). In hunting situations, dont go for these long range shots, as you'll lose way too much KE, plus you'll stand a greater chance at wounding game. In hunting situations, I would not hesitate to take shots approaching 50 yards if the conditions are right, but mainly, when hunting, most shots fall below 30, which easily allows for great pass through shots.

not sure about max, but I shoot up to 60 when I practice and it still accurate and hits hard, if your are shooting deer you shouldn't be shooting more than 50yds anyways.

This bow will shoot out to 60yrds in perfect conditions and a good hand on the trigger but most shots are 30 or less which is easy for any decent bow these days especially for this one, don&#39;t bang it around and keep up on maintaince and it&#39;ll treat you well

All the packages that are in stores and online all come with scopes. You can get the xbow by itself, with iron pins only though

Bow was easy to assemble. Its very fast and the red/green dot scope was easy to sight in and is very accurate. Have only shot it a few times but I am very satisfied so far.

Been in the woods a few times with this crossbow. I really like the way it feels and it assembles easily. For the price, I would say you probably can't find a better deal! Also love the scope that came with this package. I had a bit of trouble carrying it up my stand but bought a shoulder strap and now that problem is solved. Overall I would say ANYONE starting out and even the experienced hunter will like this crossbow!

Great crossbow!

I have 2 Barnett Jackals. One with the muti-rec site and one with the stock red dot.. Ilove them both. Wife has taken over the red dot jackal for herself and will not let me use it. I recomend this to anyone that wants or needs a great crossbow for hunting. Easy set up!

This has been a great intro into this new type of hunting for me. The bow is good in quality and VERY VERY VERY ACCURATE but be sure to carefully read the instructions. The scope is good quality but sight it in as a rifle scope and not how they say. I destroyed two of the three kit arrows at 40 yards (the vanes were shot off). The bow is a little loud but I am sure that with the addition of vibration dampers it will quiet it down. I am the type of person that really shops for a great deal and this package is incredible. Lightweight, fast (chrono 311 fps), and VERY accurate. I would strongly recommend the purchase of the rope cocking device. GREAT BUY!!!!

Great Start-Up Kit...GREAT BUY!!!!

I purchased this cross bow this passed hunting season i havent killed a deer with it yet but its dead accurate. The only issue ive had with it is the 3 dot scope isnt all that great and mine came broke but other than that i love it!!! I changed the scope over to a 4×32 multi green and red scope and at 30 yards at a decoy dead on heart shot very fast and powerful weapon thanks Barnett!!.....!!!!

Only reason I dont give 5 is because the red dot sight is garbage . Quiver broke quickly but it was partially my fault. Bow itsself works great. Bagged an 8 pointer this weekend perfect shot bow was reliable.
