No, this does not come with strap covers.

This is a car seat that stays in your car, not one that will be taken out with the child in it still.

I don&#39;t think so, it has no latching system for a cart and would just wobble on top. No car seats for larger children would do this, I was only able to do that with our infant carrier.

There are *no* carseats that &#39;fit&#39; on top of a shopping cart. Not even infant bucket type seats. They&#39;re not built for that and can ruin the mechanism that connects to the base left in the car. Not only that, it is a HUGE safety issue with putting an infant seat on top of a shopping cart.

This is a convertible carseat for infant through preschool age, depending on size of child. It stays in the car, not portable like an infant only seat.

As stated before, NO car seat should ever be placed on top of a shopping cart. If you wanted to put the seat in the actual cart it would fit but I&#39;m not really sure why you would want to do that. And no, infant seats do not snap into carts either. That latch mechanism is for the base , NOT for shopping carts. It can damage the car seat and is very dangerous!

No, it&#39;s not suede. It&#39;s some sort of polyester blend, pretty cushy (thick).

No, but they&#39;re not really needed. Covers usually interfere with the &quot;pinch test&quot; anyhow. Aftermarket cover are incredibly dangerous as they&#39;ve not been tested with the seat. A correctly positioned and tightened strap shouldn&#39;t hurt. If it bothers your child, you can always put a shirt on in the car.

I&#39;ve used this seat for my 7 and 20-month-olds. The minimum weight is 5lbs.

My son is about the same size as yours, and while he did fit in it, it didn't seem like it would last him very long, so I returned it, too.

The shoulder straps are supposed to start below his shoulders for rear-facing. You don't say which way you were trying it. I have read elsewhere that this seat really won't last long forward facing because it was built to encourage extended rear-facing. And that's why I bought it, to try to keep my son rear-facing for longer than he could in his current seat.

The strap issue we had for rear-facing was the crotch strap being so short. He was almost sitting on the buckle when it was in the second slot (and you can't use the third for rear-facing).

The straps were quite tight when I tried my 4 year old (just under 40 lbs/40 in) in the seat, even loosened all the way, so I do think that it won't last to the limits for many kids.

believe you need to move up into the next level of car seats. This one is better for under 2 - Many sizes of car seats -for airplane travel a good booster seat would probably work fine.

(: This carseat was designed from the ground up to provide extended rear-facing and is actually outgrown forward-facing significantly before it&#39;s outgrown rear-facing. Rear-facing children are five times less likely to be killed or seriously injured in a car crash than forward-facing children.

Another reviewer noted that the crotch buckle is quite short. If this ends up being a problem for you, call Dorel (800-544-1108) and ask if they can send you a longer crotch buckle. I don&#39;t think they have them (yet) but if enough people call about it, hopefully they&#39;ll release a longer one!

This seat is great for EXTENDED REAR FACING especially because of low strap slats but generous height and weight limits.. If you choose to turn your child forward facing at 2 then this seat is likely not going to be a good choice. If your child fits the height and weight requirements you could always rear face them on the plane.

I am so glad that you posted this question! I am dealing with the exact issues. My daughter is 1.5 years old, 24lbs, She is tall &amp; very slender. At first, I only struggled with getting it buckled and unbuckled. I didn&#39;t return it because I hoped maybe it was just a temporary flaw of it being new. Then as she got a little taller, I discovered that the straps aren&#39;t long enough; making it tightly uncomfortable around her legs. Every time I buckle her in, I have to try to keep from pinching her leg while I try to buckle the 2nd strap. I literally dread going anywhere due to the nightmare of this car seat. I&#39;ve only had this a few months &amp; already have to invest in yet another car seat.

Re crotch strap, I wrote to www.coscokids.com (there is also a telephone number) I explained that the crotch strap was at times a little too tight and could they please send me an extender. After sending them all the information they needed, which is found on the side of the car seat, they promptly sent me a new crotch strap with buckle. The new crotch strap is a little longer and the buckle looks slightly bigger. Strap is Working good. My grand son is over two years and still faces rear and we will not be turning him around until 30 lbs.

My child is 1 year old and only 23 pounds. The crotch strap is too short. I emailed the company and they said they didn&#39;t have an extender that the strap that is attached is the only one they offer. Shame as I will not be able to use this car seat. Don&#39;t buy this car seat as it doesn&#39;t fit children over the age of 1 year and over 20 pounds. The crotch strap pinches the legs and the company has no replacement for you.
