I finally bought this diagnostic tool even though there were more expensive tools. It turns out it is an indispensable good helper in my motoring life. The customer service was very prompt in helping me so I could upgrade the product in time, and I used the tool to find some hidden problems in my Ford Escape. AMAZING! Considering how much a garage would have charged me for their repair work, this is pretty much a money saver!

My old scanner is a couple of years old and can only read the engine codes. When the Ford Ranger started acting up with the transmission problem when it made some noises and smelt like it was burning, I was forced to consider buying a new and higher-level diagnostic tool, which would help me access other systems to get the in-depth analysis. And this CRP123X fits my needs, considering its price and the features after I researched online among different brands and uses of scanners. So I got it and plugged it into the vehicle DLC port, and it showed me a code P0897 indicating that the Transmission fluid needed to be changed. (Thanks to the built-in DTC book, I got the code meaning pretty soon.) I am glad to troubleshoot the problem in time. A slight transmission noise can cause premature failure. So to avoid overloading the vehicle, I think anyone should have a scan tool to help them fix the car issue, to give peace of mind.

I have a chevy colorado.   I ran the scan.  It shows all systems are good   NO CODES.   Yet im staring at a ABS light,  as well as a " fault in tracktion control"
When i press hard on brakes sounds like banging, as well as peddle goes to floor.   So no, not happy with this.   Why does the report state ABS system is normal ???    answer this

Initial power up the unit goes into setup and attempts to connect to a wifi network to update itself.  It would not connect to the network after numerous attempts even when I reduced the security settings on the wifi network to make it easier.  The device offered no way to skip this step so it could not be used at all.  An Email to the company went unanswered.
