Yes, the spring-loaded lancet device can be used on the forearm. I have been using the device on the side of my index finger for about a month now (2x per day) and the puncture site has never been sore. Don't know how many entries it will store.

No.  If your strips are code 7 you have to set your meter to code 7. I think it defaults at 25 so when 25 is on the screen, use the arrows to bring the code down to 7

Having to control what I eat and stress over because I am borderline to becoming a Diabetic due to family history, I must monitor my blood glucose every day until I can lose at least 45 pounds and learn how to eat healthy. Since I have been using this product, I am truly satisfied of its features that helps me understand what I must do to change my bad habits. The only con I can think of is the size of the device and its traveling bag. I carry a small purse for safety reasons, and the kit has forced me to move to a large purse. I will definitely purchase the OneTouch Mini this evening if I can locate the color pink.

Worth the Investment

Accurate and affordable.  The real expense is in the test strips, as the meters are inexpensive.  Cheap devices and test strips can be as much ad 30 points off.  The OneTouch, when used with OneTouch test strips, is consistently accurate.  Need to check Internet for best prices on test strips.

Easy to Use; Accurate;Stores info. for Dr. or Nurse to review; can upload to computer & print out; Small & Easy to transport; Comments capability helps with control; Adjustable Depth of lancet is nice.
I have wasted a few strips & would rather not have to change lancets daily.

Love my new meter

I've been T1D since 1992 and have always used this meter until last year because the strips cost more on my insurance plan. So I switched to freestyle and I found the results highly inaccurate. If you test back to back it's likely you'll never get the same result twice - with any meter and the results should be within 10pts of each other. With Freestyle my results were 70, 143 and 182. Within one minute. I immediately used my old one touch and 3 x it said 143, 147 and 144.   

Freestyle sent me a new meter and the ame thing happened.  Giving insulin based on a 182 reading when it's really 143 is bad enough because with me , my pump would go be me 3-5 additional units to bring my sugar to 120 which is my target but imagine if it was really 70 and the meter read 182?

Bottom Line,  ONE TOUCH is most accurate and yes the yellow light is horrendous but to me , accuracy takes the cake.

Best meter available

Having come from a freestyle lite to the one touch ultra 2 because that is all my insurance will cover now, I can assure you it uses more than 1 speck of blood. You have to make sure you have a good amount before you test - otherwise you get an error. Also one touch ultra 2 requires coding - I haven't had to code in 5 or 6 years. And it comes with a single sheet user guide large enough to cover a window in your house - so it is not self-evident. I do not know why these insurance companies make the decisions they do - bummer!

Back in the Dark ages

The results are hard to read because the lighting is very low

One annoying feature is the dim, very dim display.  I bought this Ultra to replace the Ultra that had the same problem.

I don't like it. It takes more blood to put on the test strip. I also don't like the user guide. It is a fold out piece of paper, like a newspaper. I have a FreeStyle InsuLinx meter and I loved it. It had a touchscreen. But, I'm on a Medicare Advantage Plan, they will no longer cover test strips for this meter. They will only pay for the OneTouch Meter. OneTouch has no touchscreen meters & they stopped making the booklet for all the meters. The company that makes the OneTocuch meters called me today & told me that.
